Enjoying the OMH vibe!
I enjoy working from the Oslo Media House, because I find that I am productive here and able to focus and work efficiently on my projects. I work in the field of human rights and social change, and although it is not necessarily the same work as the other members of the Oslo Media House, I find that we share similar synergies.
The environment of the Oslo Media House and the people here are positive, encouraging and helpful. Although I'm not a journalist or a member of the media, as an activist and writer, I am often working alongside journalists and the media for coverage on the issues and projects I work on. Being in an environment with journalists and individuals working in the field of media feels like the right fit for me.
My personal experience with working from the Oslo Media House is that I have connected with smart, caring, ambitious individuals who have taken interest in the work that I do and who have even offered their help to advance my work. For example, in May 2017, when I was organizing a dinner at a high school in Oslo in promotion of refugees, Geir Terje, who stops by to say hi and ask how I'm doing, realized that I am looking to invite the media to the event for coverage. He offered me some of his media contacts and allowed me to mention his name when I contact them. As a result of this, NRK came to the event and covered it on its evening news. This was a big deal for my work and the project I was working on. It is wonderful to be able to work in an environment where everyone talks to one another and shows genuine interest in each other's projects and initiatives.
I enjoy the vibe at the Oslo Media House that I believe is created by the positive energy and passion that Geir Terje, Guro and Magne have for the Oslo Media House. You can really feel their love for the Oslo Media House all throughout the building. The positive environment makes me come here to work. And I'm happy and proud to be a part of the Oslo Media house community.
